This trip was a spontaneous getaway with friends, and we decided to try out a cruise for the very first time. Everyone quickly agreed on the Star Voyager, departing from Hong Kong with a stop in beautiful Nha Trang, Vietnam.
🛳️ The Cruise
We knew in advance it wasn’t a massive cruise ship, so our expectations were set. Overall, it was totally fine and enjoyable. Entertainment options weren’t endless, but more than enough — there was a zipline and a big waterslide, both of which were a lot of fun.
🍴 The Food
Since most passengers were from Guangdong and Hong Kong, the food leaned heavily toward Cantonese cuisine. The taste was pretty good! We especially recommend the main dining hall — the service was excellent. One time, a dish came with mussels and shrimp, but since we didn’t like mussels, we asked if we could have only shrimp. The waitress kindly made the change for us.
🛌 The Room
We booked a triple balcony room for three people. One person had to sleep on the sofa bed, but the housekeeping staff set it up perfectly every night, so it was comfortable and spacious enough for all of us.
🌏 The Destinations
Our route included Nha Trang (Vietnam) and Sanya (China) — both were absolutely gorgeous. Nha Trang was stunning, and Ba Na Hills is a must-visit; highly recommended! Since cruise meals were a bit lighter, we treated ourselves to a full seafood feast in Sanya, which was beyond satisfying.
💰 Overall Impression
This trip far exceeded our expectations! The cost was around 5,000 RMB per person (including tickets and service fees). Everything felt worth it, and we had such a great time.
✅ Verdict: We’ll definitely choose this kind of trip again when we have the chance.
