My 4-day, 3-night voyage aboard the Royal Caribbean’s Ovation of the Seas was quite enjoyable overall — although the price wasn’t exactly cheap, I’d still say it was worth every penny! The route went from Singapore → Penang → Singapore, offering a relaxing and well-organized short getaway at sea.
⚓ Onboard Experience
The ship was full of entertainment options, but it’s important to book your activity times in advance, as some experiences require extra payment. There was also a daily open-air movie screening by the pool in the evening, which added a cozy touch to the nights.
🛍 Shopping & Facilities
One of my favorite parts was the duty-free shopping area, where I found quite a few good deals.
A small but useful reminder: bring an international power adapter! You can rent one on board, but forgetting to return it will cost you a $10 USD penalty.
For relaxation, there’s a Sauna and Jacuzzi area exclusively for guests aged 18 and above — perfect for a quiet escape.
🍴 Dining
The Chinese restaurant on board was decent, though I personally found it slightly less impressive compared to the one on the Genting Dream. Still, the food overall was varied and satisfying.
☔ Weather & Pools
Unfortunately, it rained throughout most of the trip, so the outdoor pool remained closed. Thankfully, the indoor pool was open and comfortable, so guests could still enjoy swimming regardless of the weather.
