Merlion Park in Singapore: The City's Rhythm at Sunset

When visiting Singapore, Merlion Park is almost a must-see landmark for every traveler. In the evening, I strolled along the Marina Bay promenade, feeling the cool breeze carrying the salty scent of the sea and the city's rhythm. The sunset cast golden hues on the glass skyscrapers, the Merlion spouted water, and opposite stood the magnificent Marina Bay Sands Hotel. The three towers glittered under the sunset, reflecting beautifully on the water like a painting.

What surprised me most was that many locals jogged or cycled along the lakeside at this time. Some listened to music, others pushed strollers. Although life moves fast, there is a relaxing energy here. Sitting by the shore watching the sunset and the sky shift from orange to purple, these moments make you forget time.

After nightfall, the city lights come on, the Merlion is softly illuminated, complementing the Marina Bay Sands Hotel and the Ferris wheel across the bay. This place is not just a tourist spot but feels like the most authentic corner of life in Singapore.

Tips:
1️⃣ The best time is from 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM to enjoy both sunset and night views.
2️⃣ It’s about a 10-minute walk from the Raffles Place MRT station.
3️⃣ Bring sunscreen and a hat as there is still sunlight before dusk; to capture the spectacular scenery, don’t forget to use a wide-angle lens to frame the full view of Marina Bay Sands.
