📖📖: It's not only one of Romania's oldest and most important salt mines, but also a vast underground salt museum and health resort.

1️⃣ Huge Underground Space: The salt mine consists of two main layers.

🔹Unirea Salt Mine: This is the main part open to the public. The underground halls are vast and awe-inspiring, reaching a depth of 208 meters. Due to its immense size and stable microclimate, it was once considered as a nuclear war shelter.

🔹Mihai Salt Mine: Deeper (but currently not open to the general public).

2️⃣Unique Microclimate: The underground salt mine maintains a constant low temperature (approximately 10-12°C) and air rich in sodium, iodine, and chloride ions, with a higher air pressure than at ground level.

This almost completely sterile and allergen-free environment is extremely effective for respiratory illnesses (a haven for rhinitis sufferers), earning it the reputation of a "natural rehabilitation hospital." Many tourists come not only for sightseeing but also for "salt therapy."
