Peak season in Huanglong

We took the cable car up and walked down to see the colourful ponds and waterfalls. There was a long queue for the cable car but the line moves fast. Got the tickets on trip.com and used our passport for entry (similar to most attactions in China that's booked via trip.com. Try to book the tickets early to get the scenic bus tickets within the park, as it is limited to 5000 tickets per day. Otherwise, you will need to walk about an hour on the boardwalk to the colorful ponds. Nevertheless, it's still quite a pleasant walk. Wear comfortable shoes as there is a lot of walking involved and prepare raincoat and shoe covers as the weather on the mountain changes fast. We reached there at about 10am and spent about 4 hours there.
