▪️First and foremost: the country has been incredibly hyped up by "Game of Thrones." It's simply dizzying with success. Hence the exorbitant prices for everything:

Climbing the fortress walls in Old Dubrovnik costs 40 euros

Parking in central Dubrovnik costs 40 euros for 4 hours (even in Monaco it was cheaper 😜)

The so-called "Game of Thrones" merchandise stores and museums are phony money-making schemes.

▪️ Joining the EU has apparently also not added to the country's happiness: average restaurant bills are comparable to Western Europe (thankfully, it's delicious and the portions are large), with main courses starting at 20 euros. The supermarket bill is higher than in Germany 😖

▪️ A spoonful of honey: cheap oysters straight from the oyster farm. 2.50 euros each 😃

▪️ A real discovery: Croatia isn't just about the sea and ancient streets, but also a gastronomic destination. Besides the huge portions of meat and seafood, there are tons of wineries where you can taste wine straight from the vineyards. Such a visit will be an aesthetically pleasing experience, as most wineries offer incredible sea views 😍

▪️ An ideal country for road trips: the landscape changes from coastal towns, national parks, to mountain ranges. A feast for the eyes!

▪️ A separate destination is a trip to the Croatian islands. We haven't been there yet, as it's impossible to cover both the mainland and the islands in one trip.

Overall, if your eyes are in need of beauty, they'll be endlessly delighted here!
