Sri Lanka: Whale Watching in Mirissa

On the seventh day of our trip, we went whale watching in Mirissa. Having experienced dolphin watching on a spider boat in Bali, the experience in Mirissa felt a bit lacking. We traveled a long distance but couldn't spot any whales. However, we did encounter several pods of dolphins.
As soon as they were spotted, all the large boats would speed up to chase them, but by the time we got there, the dolphins had already disappeared. I still fondly remember the dolphin watching in Bali, where we were surrounded by dolphins, feeling as if we could reach out and touch them. The downside was that the small spider boats would rock quite a bit, causing seasickness. #SriLanka
