[Nagano Prefecture] Visiting the Kamisha Main Shrine at Suwa Taisha Shrine

There are four shrines at Suwa Taisha. They are called the Four Shrines Visit, and are divided into "Suwa Taisha Maemiya," "Suwa Taisha Main Shrine," "Suwa Taisha Harumiya," and "Suwa Taisha Akimiya." It is the head shrine of the approximately 10,000 shrines across the country that worship Suwa-sama.
"Suwa Taisha Main Shrine," located on the south side of Lake Suwa, has many buildings built using a technique known as Suwa-zukuri.
The shrine has a solemn atmosphere and is very calming.
The Onbashira Festival is held once every seven years (based on the Japanese age reckoning system).
