A one-day trip from Shanghai, just a 30-minute high-speed train ride away. We went without any expectations, but ended up loving it. We visited 3 places, hoping to see the autumn leaves change color. However, the weather this year has been unpredictable, so the leaves changed color late. We went on 19/11/2024, and the leaves had just started to turn yellow, but it was still beautiful in its own way. We started our trip at Bao'en Temple, which has free admission. The inside is peaceful and very beautiful. The houses along the road in front of the temple are also very charming, with a minimalist white design, making it a pleasant walk. After that, we went to Lion Forest Garden. There is an entrance fee, but it's worth it. The inside is beautiful, like a stone maze, and it's fun to walk through. After that, we walked a short distance to Pingjiang Road, a food market. We tried bamboo tea, which was delicious. Overall, we really liked Suzhou.
