I didn't know Suzhou had such a beautiful place, and it's free!

During New Year, I stumbled upon a hidden gem in Suzhou: Qushui Shanwan, located in Shanwan Village, Lili Town, Wujiang District, Suzhou, at the center of Jiangsu, Zhejiang, and Shanghai.

The environment here is particularly beautiful, close to a large lake and surrounded by countryside. The hotel and the old houses in the village are integrated, with a Chinese restaurant in the hotel lobby and a Western restaurant called Shuishanju. The building has a unique design inspired by the nearby metasequoia forest and won the 2022 "Oscar of Architecture" Architizer A+Awards. This area is free, and you can enter Shuishanju to take photos. TV dramas such as "Little Couple" and "Winter Solstice" were filmed here.

The village is also very beautiful at night, with orange lights complementing the unique buildings. There are fireworks and bonfires during New Year. Staying in the children's room at night is also fun, with a slide directly from the second floor. I almost got stuck in the narrow opening.

Transportation: It's only a 1-hour drive from Shanghai, and it's also very convenient to get here from the newly opened Suzhou South Railway Station.
