Mountain Every Week | Hiking Guide for the Moli Peak Small Loop: A Refreshing Summer Adventure!


🚶‍♀️ Hey, fellow hikers! This week’s destination is the picturesque Moli Peak.

This small loop trail is about 9 km long, with 80% of the path winding through the mountains. The best part? Over half of it is a smooth, shaded cement road, making it the perfect summer hike—cool and effortless! 🌿

💫 **Starting Point Tip: Dizang Hall in Dongshan Scenic Area**
We chose to start at Dizang Hall in Dongshan Scenic Area for two reasons:
1. There’s a parking lot nearby, so it’s convenient.
2. The initial flat section is great for warming up, much more comfortable than tackling steep slopes right away.

When we set off, the temperature was a scorching 34°C! But as soon as we entered the forest, it felt like stepping into an air-conditioned room. The temperature dropped noticeably, and the cool mountain breeze instantly refreshed us. Hiking in such conditions was pure bliss, and our steps felt lighter. 🎋

🌟 **Hydration & Gear Tips**
* **Stay Hydrated!** Most restocking spots are near Moli Peak’s summit. I brought one electrolyte drink and one soda water, but it felt a bit tight. I’d recommend at least two bottles—e.g., one electrolyte drink + one mineral water—for a safer bet.

👚 * **Sun Protection Hack:** I discovered a trick: taking off my sunshirt in the mountains made me feel much lighter and more breathable. Just remember to put it back on if it’s windy or sunny near the summit or on the descent.

🥾 * **Footwear Matters:** Proper hiking shoes are a must! They need to be slip-resistant for safety and comfortable to avoid sore toes (especially on the way down).

* **🐇 Distance:** ~9 km.

* **⏱ Estimated Time:** 3–5 hours (adjust based on fitness level).

* Near the fire station halfway up Moli Peak: vending machines available.
* Moli Peak summit: offers vegetarian noodles and drinks.

* **🚾 Restrooms:** Available at Moli Peak summit.

1. **Shoes! Shoes! Shoes!** Wear slip-resistant, well-fitted hiking or sports shoes—safety first!
