Suzhou Secret Lotus Viewing Guide

In summer, Tongli Wetland transforms into an ink-wash painting, especially with its endless lotus ponds that perfectly capture the gentle charm of Jiangnan💕 This trip was specially planned for lotus viewing, and I stayed at two incredibly charming hotels that I'd highly recommend to fellow travelers wanting to experience the water town's summer vibe~

🏨 Tongli Lake Hotel
📍Address: 88 West Ring Road, Tongli Town, Wujiang District, Suzhou
💫Why Recommend: The hotel sits right by Tongli Lake, just a 10-minute walk to Tongli Wetland Park. The best part? Some rooms come with private balconies—you can open your window in the morning to see the lake dotted with lotuses and enjoy moonlit lotus ponds at night, just like scenes from ancient poetry! The service is thoughtful too; knowing we were there for lotus viewing, they prepared chilled lotus leaf tea for us~

🏨 Blossom Hill Inn·Lize Girls' School
📍Address: 55 Dongxi Street, Tongli Town, Wujiang District, Suzhou
🎐Unique Experience: This boutique hotel is converted from a Republic of China-era girls' school, with its blue bricks and black tiles exuding vintage charm. The most delightful surprise is the lotus pond in the central courtyard—sipping tea under the corridor while admiring the lotuses makes for perfect Republic-era style photos. The location is super convenient, just a 5-minute walk to Tuisi Garden and 15 minutes to the north gate of Tongli Wetland.

🌿Tongli Wetland Lotus Viewing Tips:
1️⃣ Best viewing period is late June to mid-August. Visit at dawn or dusk for soft lighting and stunning photos.
2️⃣ Don't miss the paddle boat ride through the lotus ponds (¥50/person) to experience the poetic "lotus leaves stretching endlessly" up close.
3️⃣ Try the lotus-themed drinks at the wetland café—chilled lotus seed soup and lotus leaf glutinous rice chicken are must-tries!

💡Accommodation Tips:
Book rooms at least 2 weeks in advance during peak lotus season. Opt for packages that include wetland tickets for better value~ Bringing Hanfu or cheongsam for photos will make your shots even more picturesque!
