Stayed at a hidden gem hotel in Suzhou! So comfortable

College student's hotel review: Park Hyatt Suzhou
Suzhou is a gathering place for luxury hotels, with numerous properties encircling Jinji Lake. Before the openings of Four Seasons and Banyan Tree, Park Hyatt has always been one of the most dazzling luxury hotels in Suzhou. The owner, Gold Mantis, invested heavily in creating this Park Hyatt, which, while different in style from typical Park Hyatts, has its own unique charm.

Public Areas: 8.7/10
The public areas of Park Hyatt Suzhou are undoubtedly one of its highlights. Compared to other Park Hyatts, this one may have a bit more opulence while incorporating Suzhou characteristics, maintaining the brand's signature serene elegance. From the ubiquitous four-petal begonia flower details to the courtyard design combining pine trees with koi ponds, Park Hyatt Suzhou presents a step-by-step scenic beauty reminiscent of Suzhou gardens. The wellness facilities are equally impressive, featuring hot springs, massages, saunas, and a gym equipped with full Technogym machines.

Dining: 8.3/10
The hotel offers a semi-buffet breakfast with overall good performance. While the buffet selection isn't extensive, the ร  la carte dishes are excellent (especially the Eggs Benedict!). Note that weekends can get crowded, so you might need to wait for a table.

Service: 8.4/10
Service standards generally meet the average for luxury hotels, with welcome fruits, turndown service, and quick delivery of requested items. A minor downside was a small stain on the duvet, and the lack of office supplies like mouse pads, pens, and stationery, which could be inconvenient for those needing to work (especially since the desk is glass, making mouse usage difficult).

Room: 8.8/10
I stayed in a twin room with a unique design. The two beds are placed side by side with a walkway in between, making the space feel more open. The dual sinks are on either side of the walkway, preventing interference between guests (though placing the bathtub and shower on the same side would be more convenient). The mattress here is the most comfortable I've ever slept on (possibly a Simmons Black Label)โ€”I fell asleep at 3 AM and woke up naturally at 8 AM feeling refreshed! The mattress truly makes a difference in sleep quality.

Location: 7.8/10
Park Hyatt is located on the eastern side of Jinji Lake, about a 25-minute drive from downtown Suzhou and 15 minutes to Suzhou Center, making it relatively far.

๐Ÿงน Soundproofing/Hygiene: Overall hygiene is good, except for a small stain on the duvet. No noticeable soundproofing issues were mentioned, suggesting it's at a good level.

๐Ÿ˜๏ธ Room Type/Layout: The twin room has a unique, spacious design with well-separated dual sinks. Placing the bathtub and shower on the same side would improve convenience. The layout is highly practical.

๐Ÿ›Œ Amenities/Facilities: The mattress is exceptionally comfortable, and the wellness facilities are comprehensive and high-end. Public areas feature local-inspired decor with exquisite details. The lack of office supplies is a slight drawback.

๐Ÿ’ฐ Average Cost: A base room with a prepaid voucher costs around ยฅ1,200 including breakfast for two, offering great value among Suzhou's luxury hotels.

๐Ÿ’— Other Tips: Breakfast may require waiting on weekends, so arrive early. The hotel's public areas are worth exploring for their distinctive scenery.

Overall Rating: 8.4/10
After four years in operation, Park Hyatt Suzhou's hardware shows no signs of aging, and its service is well-polished, making it highly worth a visit. With occasional prepaid vouchers, you can get a base room with breakfast for two at ยฅ1,200โ€”a price that stands out in Suzhou. Compared to the nearby Four Seasons' ยฅ2,500 rate, Park Hyatt's price advantage is clear.
