Hanshan Temple is one of the most famous and revered Buddhist temples in China, a symbol of Suzhou's spiritual heritage. Founded over 1,400 years ago, it became famous thanks to the poet Zhang Ji's famous poem "Night Boat at Hanshan Bell Monastery," which made the temple famous throughout China.

The main attraction is the enormous bronze bell, whose ringing, according to legend, purifies the soul and brings good luck. Every New Year, thousands of people come here to hear the bell's 108 strikes, symbolizing the cleansing of worries and the beginning of a new life.
