Along with the Lands of Seven Colors, Chamarel Falls are the main attraction of Chamarel Geopark. The access road to the park starts from the B104 and is not very visible, because it is right in a curve. But there are a few signs and then Google Map “knows” it and so it is hard to miss it. The ticket office is right at the beginning. Here you can choose from different combinations of attractions, by consulting the explanatory signs or asking the staff directly. Past the ticket office, the first stop is right at the Chamarel Waterfall parking lot. You will see the waterfall a bit from a distance, but the view is still interesting. A first observation point is located right at the parking level, while a second point is higher (the stairs are at the bottom of the terrace, on the right). I’m not a “walker” and therefore I didn’t elaborate, but this whole area (and in particular the Black River Gorges National Park) are full of interesting hiking routes, for those who love walking. These routes take you to the many waterfalls or viewpoints. I do not rule out that there is some path that allows you to see the waterfall up close. Of all the waterfalls seen in Mauritius, this is definitely the most beautiful and characteristic
