Miyahara Eye Clinic - Founded during the Japanese colonial period in the 1930s, it was the largest hospital in Taichung at that time. Its founder was Japanese physician Takeo Miyahara. After Taiwan's retrocession, Takeo Miyahara was repatriated to Japan, and his eye clinic became government property, changing ownership. Decades later, the Miyahara Eye Clinic building suffered severe damage from the 921 earthquake and Typhoon Morakot, leaving the entire building dilapidated and severely damaged. In 2010, Dawn Cake, a famous pineapple cake shop in Taichung, purchased the building, renovated and redecorated it. The interior was completely rebuilt, while some elements of the exterior and the arcade were preserved, along with the "Miyahara Eye Clinic" sign. The old building's fate was successfully reshaped, transforming it into an exquisite commercial space selling pastries, beverages, desserts, and more.
