A popular spot in Taichung, "Shinji New Village," where retro and stylish combine

Having heard it's a retro and stylish area, I visited Shen Ji New Village in Taichung. This area, formerly housing government audit and inspection staff, has been renovated into a popular tourist spot lined with small shops. With bookstores, stationery stores, craft and accessory shops, ice cream and rice bowl restaurants, and even an egg tart shop in the back, the area is a delight to stroll through. There are also street vendors along the street, perfect for browsing for cute accessories and trinkets. Furthermore, if you go up to the second floor, you'll find a unique design where buildings are connected by wooden decks, where you'll also find a row of cafes and general stores. The blend of retro architecture and stylish shops makes for a safe and comfortable stroll, even for women traveling alone, and the area is also incredibly photogenic.
