The lonely beauty of the end of the world: Sunset on the sand dunes of the Guosheng Port Lighthouse

This lighthouse located on the sandbar is not only for navigation of ships, but also a westernmost check-in spot for travelers to chase the light and take photos - Guoshenggang Lighthouse. It is one of the "Four Point Lighthouses in Taiwan", also known as the Qigu Lighthouse, and is a symbol of the achievements of reconstruction under the challenges of nature.

🏗️ Standing posture in the torrent of history
In 1957 (the 46th year of the Republic of China), ** was first built on Wangziliao Sandbar. The structure is a white square wooden steel frame with a tower height of about 20.7 meters. With the erosion of coastal sandbars and the loss of sea currents, it was buried in the sea by a typhoon in 1969 .
In 1970 (the 59th year of the Republic of China), ** was rebuilt on Dingtou'e Sandbar and changed to a black and white horizontal steel frame conical lighthouse with a tower height of 32.7 meters and a light range of 16.6 nautical miles, symbolizing rebirth . The lighthouse has been relocated and rebuilt three times (including 1969, 1970 and subsequent breakwater adjustments), constantly dealing with the coastal environment, like a desert explorer.

🌅 Landscape features: sandbar, sunset and stars
• The sandbar is like a miniature desert, with wind blowing sand dunes up and down, and the dusk is more elegant and dim, attracting photographers and Internet beauties.
• At sunset, the lighthouse and the coastline complement each other, and you can also capture the Milky Way and the vast sea view in the early morning and late at night.
• However, there is no night lighting, so it is recommended to go during the day, and pay attention to the slippery sand and parking safety .

🔗 One-day tour recommended itinerary
Start from Salt Mountain + Salt Museum + Lagoon Boat Tour → Go to Guosheng Port Lighthouse to enjoy the sand dune sea view → Nearby Black-faced Spoonbill Ecological Exhibition Hall → Liukong Wharf Visitor Center → Return to the ancient capital city, a complete half-day experience of the salt town with indifference and humanities.

Guoshenggang Lighthouse is the "westernmost beacon" on the main island of Taiwan. It stands on a moving sandbar, welcoming waves and wind and rain, illuminating night navigation, and lighting up the desert dreams in the hearts of travelers. There is no commercial hustle and bustle here, only the beautiful isolated scenery where the sea and sky meet and the light and shadow flow.
