This is not Europe! This is southern Taiwan!

The Taiwan Literature Museum is located near the bustling Zhongzheng Road roundabout. Built in 1916 during the Japanese colonial period, it originally served as the Tainan Prefecture Office and was designed by Japanese architect Matsunosuke Moriyama. The museum features a Mansard roof and turret-style architecture inspired by French design, with its entrance columns exuding a rich and elegant exotic charm. It is also a popular spot for wedding photography. As a historic site with over a century of cultural heritage, it is Taiwan's first national-level literary museum. Its core mission revolves around the research, development, preservation, restoration, exhibition, education, and public promotion of Taiwanese literature. Additionally, it serves as a vital hub for exchanges between Taiwanese and world literature. Through educational outreach, exhibitions, and various activities, the museum aims to make literature more accessible to the general public.
