Zhenze, also known as Taihu, is the only ancient town in the south of the Yangtze River with the same name as Taihu Lake. It is also a famous historical and cultural town in China with a long history and profound cultural heritage. It is a shining pearl inlaid on the Sujia Lake Plain.

Zhenze Town, a renowned Jiangnan town with over 2,000 years of history, is also known as my country's silk town. Located southwest of Shengze, a renowned silk town, Zhenze boasts numerous historical sites, including ancient bridges, pagodas, temples, and houses, each with its own story. Local chronicles record Zhenze's eight major scenic spots: Ciyun Sunset, Flying Pavilion Sails, Retro Peach Blossom Land, Rainbow Bridge Dawn View, Zhangdun Nostalgia, Puji Bell Sounds, Kangzhuang Villa, and Fan Li Terrace. Each one deserves careful exploration and appreciation.

Shijian Hall

Covering 2,700 square meters, the five-room, six-hallway, high-walled residence boasts 147 rooms of varying sizes. It integrates river docks, warehouses, shops, streets, halls, inner residences, gardens, and lower quarters. With houses built within the street and the street within the houses, the residence creates a dignified and simple traditional Chinese style, both dynamic and tranquil, solemn and harmonious. It serves the triple functions of officials, scholars, and merchants, a rare example of modern Jiangnan folk architecture, truly a waterside residence.

Pagoda Street

Formerly known as East Street, it lies in the eastern part of the town, north of the Ditang River. Approximately 400 meters long, the street is narrow, especially in the middle. At its narrowest point, a narrow canopy of skylight is left between the eaves, allowing pedestrians to walk along the shopfronts without getting wet, creating a picturesque scene of the misty Jiangnan landscape. Pagoda Street is divided into two blocks, separated by Sanguantang Lane. Most of the buildings on both sides of Pagoda Street are two-story buildings from the Ming and Qing dynasties, with whitewashed walls and black tiles. They are unpretentious. The 1958 film "The Lin Family Shop" was filmed in Pagoda Street. Along the street, you can enjoy local silk-pulling performances and snacks.

Ciyun Temple Pagoda

Located within Ciyun Temple, this tower boasts a brick structure and wooden eaves, forming a pavilion-style structure consisting of walls, corridors, and a core. From the second floor onward, each level features a flat eaves, with a wooden staircase leading up. The Ciyun Temple Pagoda and Yuji Bridge complement each other, creating a unique "arch bridge and tower shadow" landscape in the Jiangnan water towns.
