The National Taiwan History Museum, located in Taijiang Inland Sea, Annan District, Tainan City, boasts a 20-hectare outdoor area, the "Taiwan History Park." This museum preserves Taiwan's historical and cultural memories, its international relations, ethnic groups, and modern Taiwan. The museum's buildings include the Administration and Collection Building, the Exhibition and Education Building, the Lakeside Classroom, the Lecture Hall, the Lakeside Library, and more. The outdoor "Taiwan History Park" features the Gratitude Tree, the Photoelectric Cloud Wall, the "Chasing the Waves on the Sea Breeze" (Kunshen Pond), the Original Taiwan Future Island, Harmony, the Hill of Hope, the Hand-in-Hand Bridge, the Lake of Love, and the Lake of Forgetfulness. The museum features permanent exhibitions, special exhibitions, special exhibition retrospectives, a children's hall, a VR workshop, and other areas that change regularly, hosting various themed events. As a museum dedicated to Taiwanese history, the National Taiwan History Museum is responsible for educational outreach, curatorial research, collection research, and community engagement.
National Museum of Taiwan History Hours: Open Tuesday to Sunday, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM (last admission 4:30 PM). Closed: Mondays (open if a national holiday falls on a Monday, but closed the following day), Lunar New Year's Eve and the first day of the Lunar New Year, days closed by government notice, and days closed by the museum as announced. (Closed September 1-8.)
Lakeside Library: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Taiwan History Park: Open daily, 5:00 AM - 10:00 PM (restroom hours included).
