There are many hiking trails in Greater Taipei, and most of them are suitable for all ages. This time we visited the #军船岩民宿道 in the Datun Mountains. It is easy to reach and walk, and is one of the 20 parent-child hiking trails in Taipei. However, due to its unique snow-white sandstone landform, it has become a famous IG check-in spot.

The entrance to the Junjianyan hiking trail can be accessed from Yangming University. It is located in the mountainous area just north of Shipai Veterans General Hospital, with an altitude of 185.6 meters. The hiking trail is about 3 kilometers long, the entire line is about 5.7 kilometers long, and the walking time is about 2 hours. In fact, you can see the famous landmark Battleship Rock not long after walking. It is named Battleship Rock because the protruding rock stands among the layers of mountains and looks like a ship on the sea at first glance.

The top of the rock has a beautiful view. Looking to the right, you can enjoy the ridgeline from Shilin to Beitou. Looking to the left, you can see the Wellington Villa community. The view is open and beautiful.

If climbing is not enough for you, you can also challenge the Tianmu Ancient Trail next to it. This water pipe hiking trail is made entirely of stairs. It is guaranteed to make your legs sore that your feet will shake when you go down the mountain!
