If you want to find a quiet corner in the bustling city, come here. Located near Ximending in Taipei, #西红願寺 is low-key but full of history. This site bears witness to the transformation of Taipei from the Japanese colonial period to the modern era. At that time, this was the largest Pure Land Buddhism temple in downtown Taipei and an important place for Japanese immigrants to hold religious ceremonies. However, with the evolution of the times, the main buildings of the temple have been gradually destroyed, and now only a few ruins remain, but this has added a sense of vicissitudes of life to the site.
This time I walked from Longshan Temple all the way to Ximending, and accidentally passed by here and found a special surprise - the Lantern Festival lantern installation "Blessing Lantern Forest" that is being prepared. It is really super beautiful ~ Although it is not open yet ~ It’s so beautiful when photographed from a distance. I believe that when the Taipei Lantern Festival officially opens on February 2, this place will definitely become a popular spot for taking photos and checking in.
