The Nanchang County Museum is located in the iconic Nanchang County Cultural Center, a modern, circular, fan-shaped structure in the heart of Liantang Town, the county seat. The museum is situated on the west side of the building, which has a floor area of ​​3,120 square meters and an exhibition area of ​​2,300 square meters.

Nanchang County Museum was established in 1984 as a comprehensive museum under the Nanchang County Culture, Radio, Television, Tourism and Press and Publication Bureau. In 2009, it was approved by the Jiangxi Provincial Department of Culture to add the name of Hongzhou Kiln Celadon Museum. In 2013, it was listed as a national third-level museum.

On January 24, 2009, the Nanchang County Museum officially opened to the public free of charge. Its main exhibits include "Hongzhou Kiln Celadon Exhibition" and "Ancient Charms and New Appearances Shining in Nanchang: Nanchang County History and Culture Photo Exhibition."
