Located directly opposite the entrance of the New Beitou MRT Station is the "Beitou Park", a park with a century-old history. Beitou Park includes Beitou Library, Hot Spring Museum, open-air hot springs, Beitou Museum, Plum Garden, Geothermal Valley, Beitou River and other attractions. It is also the first hot spring park in Taiwan. There is a fountain at the entrance, which sprays water to the sound of music at a fixed time every day. A faint smell of sulfur can also be smelled in the park, which is the characteristic of Beitou. On the first day of the Lunar New Year, I brought my family here to meet an old friend, but the sky was not good, sometimes it rained and sometimes it was sunny. The two families hid from the rain and then continued walking and chatting in the park. Although it was New Year's Day, there were not many tourists or people in the park, so it was quite comfortable to walk around. However, the changeable weather somewhat disturbed their interest in sightseeing. Although the park is not particularly large, some of the buildings in the park have brought it many tourists. We came here just for these buildings, but almost all venues were not open on the first day of the Lunar New Year. We can only wait until the next time we come to Taipei to visit the venues and buildings in the park. (20210212)
