The old days in the shadows of flowers: a gentle afternoon at the Shilin Residence

#Taipei Itinerary
Stay at the Howard Plaza Hotel Taipei, located in a quiet alley on Ren'ai Road, low-key yet elegant. The afternoon sun shines through the wooden blinds and projects onto the vintage furniture, and the light and shadow seem to slow down their rhythm. This is the starting point to Taipei’s past glory.
Walking into the Shilin Official Residence is like entering a greenhouse of time. Mrs. Chiang Kai-shek’s rose garden is still in bloom, vines are climbing up the white walls, and the traditional Japanese house stands quietly among the greenery. Butterflies are hovering in the greenhouse, children are playing on the grass, and time is gently placed here. When I left, I bought a replica postcard and returned to my room in Fuhua to write carefully. Although there was a lot of traffic outside the window, my heart was still in the tranquility of that garden.
