Taipei Chifeng Street Stroll | Indie Shops, Desserts, and Cats for a Relaxing Afternoon

This time in Taipei, I made a special trip to Chifeng Street in Zhongshan District, a new hotspot for hipsters.

This street is packed with unique shops, and you can discover surprises just by wandering around. It's perfect for a leisurely afternoon stroll.

🍰 Dopamine-Boosting Dessert Shop (Photos 1-2)
I stumbled upon an irresistibly cute dessert shop with American-style trendy decor and vibrant, playful illustrations. It's practically a "dopamine haven" for Instagram-worthy shots! I ordered their signature **Earl Grey Tart**, which had a rich tea aroma without being overwhelming. The tart crust was crispy, and the presentation was so beautiful I almost couldn't bear to eat it. My sister and I went on a photo spree inside the shop—the lighting made every shot look amazing!

🍡 Popular Mochi from "Sa Bai Tian" (Photo 3)
I've seen many people recommend "Sa Bai Tian" on Chifeng Street, a shop specializing in soft and chewy mochi. Luckily, there was no line that day (small victory!). I tried the sesame, peanut, and Ovaltine flavors. The sesame was incredibly fragrant, the peanut wasn't overly sweet, but the Ovaltine was just average. It's worth a try if you're passing by, but I wouldn't say it's worth a long wait.

I turned a corner and found **Dengbo Coffee**, drawn in by the bright yellow bench outside (hipster DNA activated!). I ordered a **Winter Melon Latte**, and to my surprise, the refreshing winter melon paired wonderfully with coffee. The sweetness was just right, making it perfect for Taiwan's humid weather. I also snapped a quick photo on the yellow bench—the color combo is super photogenic!

🐱 Cat Lover's Paradise! Indie Shop Finds (Photos 7-8)
I discovered a cat-themed indie coffee shop along the way, with a giant cat decoration at the entrance. Although I didn't take photos inside, the merchandise section was irresistible! I picked up cat-themed postcards, drip coffee bags, and the cutest cat-patterned socks—perfect as gifts for friends.

📖 Hidden Gem for Poetry Lovers: "Poetry Life" Bookstore (Photo 9)
I stumbled upon a niche bookstore called "Poetry Life," which specializes in rare poetry collections and independent publications. Their book selection is incredibly curated. Unfortunately, I didn't have enough time to dive in, but poetry enthusiasts will definitely get hooked. I'll make sure to spend an afternoon here next time!

This Chifeng Street stroll completely satisfied my hipster soul and foodie cravings. Highly recommended for those who love treasure hunting and prefer non-touristy itineraries! (๑´ڡ`๑)
