Lianhu Park, located in Guangnan County, Wenshan Zhuang and Miao Autonomous Prefecture, Yunnan Province, is Guangnan's main leisure and entertainment center. At its center lies the Lake Center Building, a square pavilion with three eaves and a hip roof with curved roofs on four corners. To the south lies the 40-meter-long Nine-Bend One Pavilion Bridge, and to the north lies a colorful fountain that sprays eight different patterns. Four square and round pavilions are located along the northeast and southwest coasts, respectively. The west bank houses the main gate and teahouse.
The pavilions and terraces within the park are both simple and elegant. Strolling through the clear lake, swaying willows, the reflection of the red pavilion, and the green grass and red flowers create a poetic and picturesque tranquility and peace. The park complements the ancient and charming cultural landscapes of Haotian Pavilion to the east, Dutian Pavilion to the north, and the Ke Zhongping Memorial Hall to the west, creating a vibrant and picturesque setting for leisure and sightseeing.
Lianhu Park, formerly known as Cheng'en Pond, also known as Beimen Datangzi, was artificially excavated during the Jiaqing period of the Qing Dynasty to store water for drinking and irrigation. Construction of the old Lianhu Park began in 1936, a collaboration between Long Kuiyuan, the garrison commander stationed in Kaiguang, and the locals of Liancheng. A long embankment spanning the lake from east to west was constructed, with a pavilion built in the center. The pavilion features a four-cornered hip roof, covered with tubular tiles, and constructed entirely of wood with raised beams and crossbeams. Surrounded by a fence, it offers seating for enjoying the lake view.
The subtropical monsoon climate offers mild winters and mild summers, with cool, dry weather and warm, rainy weather coexisting in the same seasons. The annual temperature difference is small, and the oceanic climate is more pronounced, with spring temperatures higher than autumn. It is suitable for travel in all four seasons.
Lianhu Park has attractions such as the Lake Center Building, the Nine-Bend One Pavilion Bridge, a colorful fountain, four square and round pavilions, a teahouse, the Haotian Pavilion, the Dutian Pavilion, and the Ke Zhongping Memorial Hall to the west.
