Taipei Capella: A Retro-Chic Space Designed by Andre Fu

Attention all hotel enthusiasts in Taipei! The newly opened Capella Taipei last month has set a new benchmark for luxury. Renowned designer Andre Fu has masterfully blended vintage charm with modern elegance in every detail. From the copper chandeliers in the lobby to the velvet sofas in the rooms, every corner is Instagram-worthy 📸.

The public spaces are the biggest surprise! The indoor pool features marble mosaic flooring, the spa area is infused with the aroma of Taiwanese tea leaves, and even the elevator lobbies are adorned with ink paintings. The room amenities include top-tier French brands, and there’s even a thoughtful touch of Taiwanese tea bags placed by the bathtub—perfect for sipping Oriental Beauty tea while soaking in a relaxing bath.

Rumor has it that Four Seasons will also be opening in Taipei this year, marking a new era for luxury hotels in Taiwan beyond the traditional classics. After staying at Capella, I’m officially a fan! Next time, I’ll be sure to try their Cantonese restaurant, which is said to be helmed by a chef from a Michelin-starred restaurant in Hong Kong.
