【Indulge in the World】🍸 Taipei Bar Hopping First Stop: The Public House, a Taste of Tipsy British Vibes 🥂
A trip to Taipei wouldn’t be complete without some bar hopping, right? 😎 On our first night, we visited The Public House, located in Xinyi Anhe, to experience the unique charm of a British-style pub! This bar was recently ranked 40th on Asia’s 50 Best Bars list—impressive! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
The moment we stepped into The Public House, we were captivated by its atmosphere! 😍 The dim lighting paired with vintage decor exudes a quintessential British pub vibe. 😌 The first floor features a bar and semi-open four-person booths, while the second floor offers private rooms, catering to various gathering needs. Even with a crowd, it doesn’t feel overly noisy; instead, it has a relaxed yet lively vibe, perfect for chilling with friends! 🥂
We booked bar seats for 7:00 PM two weeks in advance, with a dining time of three hours—plenty of time! 👍🏻 The drink menu offers a wide selection, and the signature cocktails are particularly enticing! 😍 My husband and I each ordered two drinks, priced at TWD 400 per glass.
🍹 Noon: The Macallan Double Cask 12 Years / Charcoal Oolong Tea / Rye Bread / PX Sherry - The rich flavor of whiskey combined with the refreshing aroma of oolong tea creates a unique blend! The tea balances the intensity of the whiskey, resulting in a smooth and layered taste. 😋
🍂 Autumn Mosaic: Matusalem 15 Gran Reserva / Iron Goddess Tea / Ginger Lily / Fermented Apple - This rum-based cocktail is full of autumn vibes! The Iron Goddess tea and fermented apple flavors complement each other well, while the ginger lily adds a refreshing touch! 👍🏻
🌹 Plum & Rose: Auchentoshan Three Wood / Yanzhi Plum Wine / Rose Kombucha / Galangal - This cocktail, with plum wine as its base, is infused with rose and galangal, offering a sweet and tangy flavor that’s super refreshing! Perfect for the ladies! 👧🏻
🥃 Moistini: Johnnie Walker Black Label / Peanut Oil Wash / Espresso / Lucano Amaro / Lucano Caffe - This one is on the manlier side, with a strong whiskey flavor complemented by coffee and Amaro, delivering a slightly bitter yet complex taste. 🧔🏻♂️
As for food, we ordered fried oysters and porcini mushroom risotto. The fried oysters were perfectly cooked—crispy on the outside and tender inside! 🦪 The porcini mushroom risotto was creamy and aromatic! 🍄
The total bill came to TWD 2464 (HKD 663). Considering the ambiance and quality, I think it’s quite worth it! 👍🏻
