Experience the Sunset and Night Lights at Simatai Great Wall

The Simatai section of the Great Wall is renowned as one of the most beautiful and romantic parts of the wall. Unlike other sections, it is not only open during the day but also offers a unique Night Tour, allowing visitors to experience the Great Wall in a completely different atmosphere.

We started our cable car ride at 6 PM, just in time for the sunset. This is the most stunning time of the day, as the sky gradually transitions through shades of orange, red, and purple before deepening into a rich blue. Standing there, taking in the view, felt like being inside a living painting—it was absolutely breathtaking.

Nighttime and the Glow of Lights

As night fell, the lights along the wall and the lanterns were illuminated, revealing the intricate pathways and towers of the Great Wall. Sitting by an old stone window, gazing out at the scenery with a lantern in hand, evoked a feeling of warmth and enchantment. It’s hard to put into words, but I completely fell in love with this place.
