Zhouji Meat Porridge (周記肉粥店), also known in Thailand as "Crispy Pork at Longshan Temple," is a famous and widely talked about crispy pork porridge shop near Longshan Temple.
The atmosphere feels like a trip back in time to Taipei, back in the days of my grandfather. The old wooden tables and ceramic bowls of porridge with a slight mist rising from them are a real treat. The morning smell makes your camera shake as you rush to take a picture before you eat. It's always crowded, the prices are reasonable, and the exchange rate is comparable to Thailand's.
The highlight is the crispy pork, a must-try. Another recommended dish is the bamboo shoots with mayonnaise sauce. It's incredibly delicious! 🔥🤩
Tip: Go before 9:00 AM. You won't have to wait long.
Price: We ordered three dishes. The porridge is served per person for 15 NTD per bowl. For two people, we ended up spending 210+ (15 x 2) = only 240 NTD.
⏰ Open daily from 6:00 AM to around 4:15 PM, but it often sells out.
Check the closing dates again. The shop will be announced at the front of the store or you can find it in Taiwan travel groups.
📍 1-2 minute walk from Longshan Temple, get off at Longshan MRT Station.
After eating, stroll across the street to Bopiliao Historical Block for some beautiful photos and a historical atmosphere with over 200 years of history.
