ตึกอิฐแดง The Red House

#TravelChat Anyone visiting Taiwan must not miss a visit to Ximending, one of the most popular tourist destinations. This red brick building is also located in this area. This red octagonal building, connected to a Western-style cross-shaped building, was built in 1908 during the Japanese occupation of Taiwan. Designed by Kondo Juro, a Japanese architect who designed Western-style buildings at the time, it served as the first market in Taiwan. The building boasted a vast array of goods for sale, as well as a bookstore and theater, all of which were very popular. Today, it remains a well-preserved tourist attraction. A must-visit when in Taipei.
