Taipei Military Dependents' Village Noodle Shop

When it comes to famous noodle shops in Taipei, this one definitely makes the list. Nestled in a small alley near Si Si Nan Cun in the bustling Xinyi District, you'll find the renowned Xiao Kai Yue Nan Cun Eatery 🥢.

The noodles here are all thick-cut, and this time I tried the lard mixed noodles. The sauce is perfectly balanced—not too salty or greasy—and pairs wonderfully with the shop's chili sauce.

I also highly recommend ordering the sesame cucumber! It features a base of vinegar and soy sauce, topped with sesame paste and fresh cucumber. It's completely different from the usual sesame cucumber dishes—refreshing and absolutely delightful 🥹.

If you visit on a weekday evening, there's usually no need to wait in line.
