Taipei is famous for its neon streets and most famous skyscraper 101.
But in case you are a nature lover as me: did you know you can hop on a local bus for a few minutes and suddenly you’re chilling in epic nature at Bamboo Lake 🌳💧! Snapshot-worthy scenery, peaceful vibes, and perfect creeks make it ideal if you need to escape city buzz. (Image tip: weather flips between sunny and cloudy/rainy, so every photo feels unique!)
Top Spot to Visit:
Bamboo Lake — 112, Taiwan, Taipei City, Beitou District, at the heart of Yangmingshan National Park. Open all day, year-round — easy! Bus routes like S8, S9, or 129 from Jiantan MRT head here. Fare is super cheap (TWD 30–45), and the ride itself is gorgeous.
What to Do:
Enjoy a chill walk around the lake with small creeks winding through lush trees; the paths are great for nature close-ups AND landscape shots. There are several local shops and restaurants close to the lake (pick up fresh veggies or recharge with Taiwanese tea). Grab a photo on the stone bridge for those wow-factor Instagram moments!
Other Sightseeing Ideas Nearby:
Yangmingshan National Park (loads of trails!), Zhuzihu, and the dreamy Flower Clock area—all reachable within 20 minutes by bus from Bamboo Lake.
Pro Tips:
Bring a rain jacket, since weather flips YOLO-style! Water/snacks are handy if you prefer to picnic. No need for tickets, open all day. Cash is best for shops and buses—ATMs aren’t everywhere up here.
Getting Around:
Taipei buses run fast and often, use trip.com for easy schedules! The easiest route: MRT to Jiantan station, then hop the park bus.
