#chinatravel If you want that “on top of the world” feeling without hiking for six hours straight, Hehuanshan East Peak (合歡山東峰) in Nantou County is a total win. The trail starts near the parking lot, and it looks chill at first... but yeah, it gets your heart pumping real quick. Lots of stairs and altitude hits different up here, but nothing too crazy.
The best part? The views are epic pretty much the whole way. You get rolling green hills, clouds floating by, and sometimes even that sea of clouds moment if the weather’s feeling dramatic. There’s a big rock marker at the top for your classic “I did it” photo too.
It’s a solid hike if you’re road tripping through Hehuanshan and want something that feels legit but still doable. Just pace yourself, drink water, and bring a windbreaker because the breeze at the top can be savage. Quick, beautiful, and totally worth the effort.
