Located in the heart of Takamatsu City, Kagawa Prefecture, Tamamo Park (the ruins of Takamatsu Castle) is one of Japan's three major water castles, built during the Edo period. The park is distinguished by its moat connected to the Seto Inland Sea, offering a rich historical ambiance.
During the summer season (April to September), the park opens as early as 5:30 AM, making it ideal for an early morning stroll. Walking amidst the quiet surroundings, you can admire the pine trees, stone walls, and the reflections on the water's surface, bringing a sense of calm to your mind. Additionally, every Friday at 6:30 AM, the park hosts "Castle Yoga," which requires no reservation and costs 500 yen to participate (separate from the entrance fee).
The entrance fee is an affordable 200 yen for adults, and the park is conveniently within walking distance from Takamatsu Station. If you're visiting Takamatsu, why not start your day with a peaceful morning at Tamamo Park, soaking in its history and natural beauty?
