Ritsurin Garden Hanazonotei: Freshly baked mitarashi dango

Ritsurin Garden

A garden with six ponds and 13 artificial hills, covering an area the size of 16 Tokyo Domes.

It was completed over a period of about 100 years by successive feudal lords of the Sanuki Takamatsu Domain during the Edo period.

It is now designated as a Special Place of Scenic Beauty by the national government.

It is also one of Japan's leading feudal lord gardens, receiving the highest rating of three stars in the Michelin Green Guide Japan.

Hanazonotei, a restaurant located within the garden

Here you can take out freshly baked mitarashi dango.

Mitarashi dango 140 yen per stick

The dango, which are baked after an order is placed, are soft, and the sweet and salty sauce and the aroma of the charcoal fire were amazing.
