Rainy晴 Coastline, Majestic Sea Views Along the Himi Line

If you love the sea, Rainy晴 Coastline is a great choice.

Located in a corner of Toyama Bay, "Rainy晴" along the Himi Line boasts a poetic name. On clear days, the coastline is set against the backdrop of the majestic Tateyama mountain range, offering a rare and breathtaking view of mountains embracing the sea.

Unfortunately, it was cloudy during my visit. Perhaps the ever-changing weather is part of Rainy晴's charm—sunny one moment, cloudy the next?

A must-see at Rainy晴 Coastline is the solitary "Yoshitsune Rock" standing in the sea. Legend has it that Minamoto no Yoshitsune once sought shelter from the rain here. Nearby, there's a white arched building housing visitor information, a café, and an observation deck—perfect for relaxing and gazing at the sea.

However, getting to Rainy晴 Coastline is not easy. From Toyama, you need to take the Ainokaze Toyama Railway to Takaoka Station, then transfer to the Himi Line train to Rainy晴. The train itself has a retro charm, evoking nostalgia.

The challenge lies in the limited train schedule on the Himi Line. You need to plan your trip carefully, as missing a train could mean waiting for an hour.
