Shiga "Makino Pic Land": Metasequoia Avenue, perfect for autumn travel

Located in the suburbs of Kansai, it takes 1 hour from Kyoto Station to Makino Station (Makino Station) by JR and then transfer to the bus for about 6 minutes to arrive at "Makino Pic Land", where you can enjoy the view of Metasequoia Avenue.

The straight streets and the Metasequoia trees on both sides of the road, whose autumn red leaves are at their best viewing time (photo taken by the author on December 4, 2023), are very spectacular.

Metasequoia Avenue is about 2.5 kilometers long. Many people stay at the front end, but there are actually bus stops and coffee shops at both ends of the avenue. After completing the entire journey, I took the bus back from "Minamimakino" in the middle.
