[Okinawa/Taketomi Island] If you want to watch the sunset, head to West Pier!

Taketomi Island's 105-meter-long "West Pier"!

It once served as a crossing point to Iriomote Island for rice cultivation, but ceased its role around 1972.

Nowadays, it's a popular spot for watching the sunset on Taketomi Island. ☀️

I went there during the day, and the cobalt blue ocean reflected off the long pier was beautiful!
If you go all the way to the end of the pier, you can walk right into the ocean, which is a great way to get a close-up view of the underwater world. 🙆‍♀️

Access:
207 Taketomi, Taketomi-cho, Yaeyama-gun, Okinawa Prefecture
