Ko Tapu, also known as Ko Tapu, is a small rocky island located in the northern part of the bay of Ko Khao Phing Kan, southwest of Ao Phang Nga National Park in Kalai Subdistrict, Takua Thung District, Phang Nga Province. It is approximately 15 kilometers from the park office along the Ko Panyi Canal. Ko Tapu is a solitary island with a bulging top and a narrow base, resembling a crab's eye. (In geological terms, such an island is called a 'stack.') Viewing Ko Tapu must be done from a distance, either from a boat or from the sandbar of Ko Khao Phing Kan, as it is not possible to set foot on the island.
