Longtan Wude Hall is located in Longtan District, Taoyuan City, Taiwan. It is only about fifty meters away from Zhong Zhaozheng Literary Park, so we stopped by to visit this Wude Hall. There are Wude Halls in many counties and cities in Taiwan, which is also the best historical evidence that Taiwan was once colonized by Japan. Just like the Wude Halls in other regions, the shapes are similar. Some Wude Halls have been converted into exhibition halls, while others have been converted into kendo halls. The Wude Hall in Longtan was empty. On this day, there seemed to be an event going on inside and it was filled with seats. There was also a work of art in the square outside for people to visit. Although I don’t want to see buildings from the Japanese colonial period often, since I’m here, I might as well witness this building with historical scars! (20211114)
