Lala Mountain National Forest Recreation Area
Lala Mountain, meaning "beautiful" or "standing on tiptoe to gaze into the distance" in the Atayal language, is a transliteration of R'ra and is now also known as Daguan Mountain.
A scenic mountain attraction located on the border of Fuxing District, Taoyuan City, Taiwan, and Wulai District, New Taipei City, Taiwan, it is renowned for its giant forests rising nearly 2,000 meters above sea level, its diverse flora and fauna, and its renowned peaches.
Besides boasting Taiwan's largest red cypress forest, Lala Mountain offers unique scenery and activities year-round!
For example, summer, from June to August, is a great escape from the heat and the perfect time to savor delicious peaches. Spring, from February to March, is perfect for admiring the vibrant pink cherry blossoms that blanket the mountains and valleys. Autumn, from September to November, offers the chance to savor juicy, sweet, and crispy pears while admiring the crimson color of Lala Mountain's maple leaves. Finally, the autumn and winter months of November and December offer breathtaking seas of clouds and foliage. You can choose the right time to visit based on your preferences.
Besides hiking and enjoying the scenery on the Lala Mountain Sacred Trees Trail, you can also plan a fruit picking trip along the way!
