Tales of the Peach Blossom Spring, Part Two

The Peach Blossom Spring is the actual place described in Tao Yuanming's 'The Peach Blossom Spring'. It originated in the Qin dynasty, was recognized in the Jin, flourished in the Tang, and prospered in the Song, historically enjoying the reputation of 'thirty-five heavenly caves and forty-six blessed lands'. For thousands of years, poets and scholars like Tao Yuanming, Li Bai, Liu Yuxi, and Su Shi have left many precious poems, writings, and ink marks here. The beauty of its landscapes and pastoral scenes, the grandeur of its temples and pavilions, the richness of its inscriptions and steles, and the wonder of its historical legends are world-renowned. The core attraction of the Peach Blossom Spring is not just the picturesque natural scenery, but also the immersion in the profound Peach Blossom Spring culture within such poetic landscapes, experiencing a leisurely, auspicious, and contented life. Today's Peach Blossom Spring scenic area has developed attractions such as Taoyuan Mountain, Peach Blossom Mountain, Qin Valley, Qin Stream, the ancient town of Peach Blossom Spring, Taochuan Wanshou Palace, and live performances of 'The Peach Blossom Spring'. There are also Qin Stream, Qin Valley, Peach Blossom Mountain, Taoyuan Mountain, Wuliu Lake, and ten thousand acres of peach groves. Lying by the Yuan River and surrounded by mountains, the ancient trees and tall bamboos cover the area, where one can still find the 'lush grass and scattered falling petals' as depicted in 'The Peach Blossom Spring'. Moreover, the Yuan River flows from west to east towards Dongting Lake, passing through the Peach Blossom Spring scenic area. This section of the Yuan River has the peril of the Three Gorges and the beauty of the Fuchun River, adding much to the beauty of the Peach Blossom Spring.
