Semporna's Must-Stay Dream Overwater Bungalows

Come to Semporna once and completely cure your island addiction 🏝! Not only does it have crystal-clear waters and overwater bungalows, but you can also experience the most authentic fishing village life. Follow my itinerary to explore, eat, and play~

Day 1️⃣: Arrive at Tawau Airport → Semporna Town → Check into an overwater bungalow
It's about a 1.5-hour drive from Tawau Airport to Semporna Town. There are many seafood stalls in town; I recommend Fat Mom Seafood! Check into a dream overwater bungalow in the evening. I recommend the overwater bungalows in Kapalai or Mabul Island; you can enjoy sea views right from your bed.

Day 2️⃣: Mabul Island Snorkeling → Visit the Bajau Laut Fishing Village
Mabul Island is a snorkeling paradise with incredibly high water visibility! In the afternoon, visit the Bajau Laut fishing village; remember to bring some snacks to share with the children. I recommend staying at SWV Resort on Mabul Island; you can watch the sunset in the evening.

Day 3️⃣: Sipadan Scuba Diving → Turtle Conservation Centre
Sipadan is a world-class diving spot where you can see sea turtles and white-tip sharks. In the afternoon, visit the Turtle Conservation Centre; admission is 20 MYR. I recommend staying back in town for the night, which is convenient for going out to sea the next day.

Day 4️⃣: Bohey Dulang Island Hiking → Sibuan Island Crystal-Clear Waters
Climb Bohey Dulang Island (600 steps) to overlook the lagoon! In the afternoon, Sibuan Island's white sandy beach is stunning; remember to bring a drone for photos. I recommend staying at Pom Pom Island Resort, which is quiet and less crowded.

Practical Tips:
1. When diving, be sure to apply plenty of sunscreen, and snorkeling socks are essential to prevent coral scratches.
2. Book overwater bungalows 3 months in advance.
3. Try to travel in groups after dark at the jetty.
4. 1000 MYR in cash should be sufficient.

As the sunset dyes the sea golden-red, sitting on the overwater bungalow balcony listening to the waves, all worries turn into bubbles and shatter in the surf.
