🇳🇿 New Zealand Road Trip - Storytelling with Pictures #16 (Final Episode)

Day 16: 🌞 On the last morning of our New Zealand trip, we cleared out the fridge and prepared various condiments for the campsite kitchen to be of use to other travelers staying overnight. Afterward, we waved goodbye to Mount Cook before heading down Highway 8. The view on our left was Lake Pukaki, whose water color was so beautiful it was hard to describe its perfection. The atmosphere and the scenery were truly perfect.

🏞️ We then drove to another one of the most beautiful lakes, "Lake Tekapo." We parked the car and walked around the lake, stopping to see "The Church of the Good Shepherd," a small brick church built in 1935, approximately 90 years ago, and still in use today for religious ceremonies. Especially the romantic wedding ceremony with a stunning view of Lake Tekapo in the church's backdrop.

🌅 Tekapo Lake is a relatively small lake, measuring 27 kilometers long, approximately 6 kilometers wide, and 70 meters deep (120 meters at its deepest point). Tekapo Town, a mere 4 square kilometers in size and home to only 600 people, exudes tranquility and beauty.

🪻 We then continued our journey along Highway 79, stopping at the Lupinus (Lupinus) flower garden, a flower in the legume family with purplish-pink leaves resembling palm leaves, layered like cornflowers.🪻

🚌 We continued our journey, stopping at the towns of Ashburton, Rakaia, and Rolleston, and enjoying a delicious lunch in Templeton before returning the campervan to Christchurch Airport to check in and check out for our return flight to Bangkok. This completes our "New Zealand Road Trip," a 16-day, nearly 4,000-kilometer drive across the South Island of New Zealand.
