Tengchong Travel Guide: Hot Springs + Hidden Gems + Food All in One Get!

One trip to Tengchong, and I completely understand why so many people choose to live here! 🌳 The forest coverage is super high, the air is so fresh it feels unfair, and even the most remote country roads are as clean as if they've been washed~ The driver we met was truly warm-hearted 💕, treating us like old friends, which added so many extra points to this city!

🌸 Must-visit spots:
1️⃣ Lotus Hot Spring ♨️
📍 Address: No.1 Wenquan Road, Hehua Town
🚌 Shuttle service available, call ahead to confirm the pickup point~ There are many pools but hygiene is average, some pool bottoms are slippery, so I recommend choosing other hot springs first~

2️⃣ Angsana Hot Spring ✨ (Highly recommended!)
📍 Address: No.1 Yuquan Road, Tengyue Town
⏰ Opens at 12:00
Certified by the driver as Tengchong’s top hot spring! You can visit Mayu Valley Town in the morning, and don’t forget to soak your feet for free at the Banyan Tree bus stop~

3️⃣ Geothermal Volcano Park 🌋
⚠️ Tour guides are free! The mountain ladder must be climbed! Catch the hot air balloon on a clear day before 11 am for the best shots!
🎫 The free Volcano Museum is right at the entrance, and the simulated volcanic eruption is super cool~

4️⃣ Feeding Monkeys Guide 🐒
Navigate to "Xiabiaoyuan Mushanju," buy food only after seeing the monkeys! On the way, you’ll pass the Columnar Jointing Viewing Platform—definitely stop for some photos 📸

5️⃣ Sanchatang Waterfall 💦
Free! So spectacular it makes you scream! Safety first~

🏡 Unique Experiences:
• Ancient Dian Wenbao making watermarked paper + Tengxuan (the owner is super nice!)
• Hometown clay pottery experience (100 times better attitude than Sun’s!)
• Zheng’s oil-paper umbrella painting (perfect for artsy youth 🎨)

🍽️ Foodie Guide:
• Simola Wa ethnic village beef jerky 70 RMB/jin 🔥
• Lamb hotpot at the foot of Daying Mountain, not gamey at all!
• Mango and dragon fruit at the fruit market, a sweet knockout 💘

💔 Little regrets:
Couldn’t visit Baihualing landslide, and Heshun Ancient Town & Dongshan Grassland were canceled due to rain... but discovered the ultra-hidden Bapai Giant Spring and Daying Mountain meadow (absolutely amazing if the weather is good!)

Next stop: Mangshi and Ruili—Tengchong, wait for my second visit! ✨
