Half Day City Tour

For those with just a few days in Ho Chi Minh City, we recommend a city tour, giving visitors a chance to experience the city’s architecture and life. We start with the Presidential Palace. Formerly known as the Presidential Palace, this important city landmark secured its place in history on April 30, 1975, when the first North Vietnamese tanks rumbled across the city, signaling the fall of Saigon and the eventual end of the Vietnam War. Today, the building is a museum with meeting spaces (still used for diplomatic and government meetings), a war room, and an underground communications center. Our next stop is the Notre Dame Cathedral, which dates back to the 19th century and is a popular location and backdrop for wedding photos. Across the street from the cathedral is the city’s iconic French colonial post office, while the Hotel de Ville de Saigon, officially known as Ho Chi Minh City Hall, is another of the city’s most prominent buildings. Another example of French colonial architecture is the Saigon Opera House (built in 1898), which dominates the city center. Our final stop is the Jade Emperor Pagoda. This is a Taoist temple built by the Chinese community in 1909. It showcases mystical deities and grotesque heroes, with the Jade Emperor or King of Heaven at its center. #summervacation#beachvacation#hikingtrails#hotelstay#urbanexplorer
