🏰 For those who love castle-themed travel
We're still in Switzerland, everyone! Today, we're sharing a detailed travel plan
for everyone. Where to go and what to do once you've arrived? Let's take a look.
🚆 We recommend traveling early in the morning.
8:00 AM – Travel to Thun from Interlaken West Thun (approximately 30 minutes).
From Bern → Thun (approximately 20–30 minutes).
From Thun Station, it's a 15–20 minute walk up to the castle through the beautiful old town.
☕ 9:00 AM – Stroll around Old Town Thun.
Wander the old streets along the Aare River.
🏰 10:30 AM – Visit Thun Castle (Schloss Thun).
Entrance fee ~ CHF 10
(Swiss Travel Pass discounts may apply)
✨Visit the museum inside the castle, which tells the history of the city.
✨Climb the tower to the top for stunning views of the lake and the Alps.
⏱ Travel time: 1–1.5 hours
🍽️ 12:00 PM – Lunch break
Recommended restaurants:
• Restaurant Schlossberg Thun (located on the castle grounds, with a great view)
• Or Rathaus Café / Mani's Coffee & Bagels
🌊 1:30 PM – Stroll along Lake Thun.
Walk from the old town down to the lakeside for about 10–15 minutes.
🍦 4:00 PM – Relax at a cafe or take the boat back to Interlaken.
✨If coming from Interlaken: Take the boat back to Interlaken (2 hours). The lake view is stunning, or take the train back (30 minutes).
🎁 6:00 PM – Stop for souvenir shopping in Thun.
There's a Swiss chocolate shop and local souvenirs.
Then, head back to your accommodation.
